There was some mud but most of the course was in good shape. 37 degrees at the start and 56 degrees by the finish with spectacular ocean views from the peaks and rollercoaster downhills. My quads are just now getting back to normal after several days since I had not been running enough to prepare for 23K. I felt badly for the 50K people out there 6-7 hours.Ó

We had a great time and the PC Trails group was fantastic. The second loop up to and around Valencia Peak was really a challenge. We enjoyed talking with a very different running culture than we are used to. Many of these people have done ultramarathon events around the world and they shared many ideas with us.Ó

This is a new national freshman record - the old mark was 9:28.50 by Julia Stamps - and a new national age-14 record. It makes Jordan the 21st fastest high school performer of all-time and would have ranked her 40th in the U.S. in 2005 among women of all ages. . . Cal Poly grads competing in the meet were Jim Sorenson (3:55.77 - 1500), Paulo Carvalho (8:19.83 - 3000), Sean Ricketts (8:29.21 - 3000) & Aeron Arlin Genet (4:32.98 in the 1500).
