SACRAMENTO, DECEMBER 7 - CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL MARATHON:

From Ben Horner - "This is to let you know that I ran the Cal International Marathon so the club’s streak of having had someone here every year since the race started in 1983 remains intact. My goal was four hours and I finished in 3:59:39 to place 4th in the 65/69 age division." (Ben was part of the 50+ seniors team at Cal International in 1988 that still holds the SLDC record in that division.)

SAN LUIS OBISPO, FEBRUARY 9 - CHAINS OF LOVE 5K, 10K, & 15K:

This was a hilly course on the Cal Poly campus with the longer races consisting of multiple loops of the 5K course. The couples position/time was based on both team members crossing the line together so it didn’t help to have a faster partner. Winners at each distance received dinner certificates to local restaurants while 2nd & 3rd received race mugs.
