CARLSBAD, APRIL 3 – 20TH ANNIVERSARY CARLSBAD 5000: From Stan Coombs, ÒI ran as I expected since I had not been able to hold a pace under 9 minute miles yet this year and did not feel very strong. I finished second out of the six runners in my age category, about the same amount behind winner Jim McCown of San Diego as last year (23 seconds). I think I have 4 second place finishes and one first out of 10 runs there, This one came out as a  gun time of 28:56 and a chip time of 28:29. I definitely was used up and had no kick left at the end so I guess more training is needed.Ó

LA HABRA, APRIL 2 – 2005 LA HABRA 5K & 10K: From John Tiffin, ÒMy son and I ran this race in La Habra. Due to a miscommunication, we barely arrived in time for the start. The course was a 5K rolling loop with the 10K runners doing it twice. It was a fairly warm morning. Our chances of winning were small as the overall winner was in my sonÕs age group and the second place finisher was in mine!  Most interesting of all was an 82 year old who was listed as finishing in front of both of us. The start/ finish was next to the local Krispy Kreme franchise but we opted for breakfast at IHOP instead.Ó

Results - 10K - 1. Caorri Daadaudi  32:24 .. 32. John S. Tiffin 47:10 .. 33. John M. Tiffin (3rd-50/59) 47:36.  (101 finishers)
