GROVER BEACH, AUGUST 23 Ð CHAMBER OF COMMERCE DUNE RUNS: ÒHere are the Dune Run results, such as they are, from the Five Cities Times. One of the requirements to get your time recorded was that you had to remember it and enter it on your finish card. Some places and times are not included and others were missed completely. None of the meet officials seemed interested in the accuracy of the results and there were several challenges during the awards ceremony when names were called out.Ó    /Stan Coombs/

1. Craig Farley 57:47 .. 2. Paul Lee 60:41 .. 3. Roger Fabing 63:45 .. 4. Steve Brookshire 63:48 .. 5. Joe Morriss 63:49 .. 21. Stan Coombs 87:41. . . ÒThis was a great run. I was looking for a tough one and this was it with soft sand, hills for the first five miles, and then a downhill finish of just over two miles on pavement for an approximate distance of 7.2 miles. My time of1:27:41 averages out to a little over 12 minutes per mile, due in part to the uphills being in soft sand. Paul Lee finished right at one hour, about 8:20/mile pace. This is a good course for anyone who wants to build endurance and it attracted 30 runners.Ó      /Stan Coombs/
