Interesting
notes: Times were especially fast
in the 2007 Octoberfest Race as three records were broken and one record was
tied. Christian Hesch tied the record for fastest time
ever at 18:31
and now shares that record with Cal Poly Head Coach, Mark Conover, who set the
pace in 1988. New records were
recorded by Rachael Jelstrom (26:02) in the 12-14 age division, just nipping the 26:03 time
turned in by Rebecca Reyes in 2001; Mary Cooper (27:45) shattered the record set by
Marion McKenna (29:27 in 1999) in the 50-59 division; and Nova Poff (35:18) was no less impressive as she
blew away the 1999 record time of
39:11 (Ellie Foppiano).
The
